Does not fit any standard seat belts Aug 05, 2011
By CLM This product is heavy duty and if designed and manufactured correctly would be great. However, the welded nuts are threaded 16mm x 2.0 pitch which is larger than any standard seat belt mounting bolts in use since the 60's. The most common size of seat belt bolts is 7/16" x 20 tpi (UNF). There are variations. The included bolts are of insufficient length to thread through the included nylocs to engage the thread locking feature when bolted through 22ga. of thicker sheet-metal. There is no means to attach the plates in place without welding or drilling additional holes and adding attaching bolts/nuts or rivets. To install as provided requires typically 2 people to bolt it to a floorpan. A large grade 5 seat belt anchor fender washer would work just as well or better in most installations.
Pro: Heavy duty
Cons: Non-Standard threads.
Threads are too big, a 16mm bolt will not even go through a standard seat belt end without drilling a larger hole and weakening it.
No means to permanently attach without welding or modification.
Included 1/2" x 13 UNC bolts/nuts are non standard and too short to engage the nyloc nuts.
A large seat belt washer with correct bolts would be easier to install. A standard pre-threaded seat belt anchor is the best solution and 1/3rd the cost.
I cannot recommend this item for any standard seat belt installation. I returned it using Amazon's return policy. Amazon was great, unfortunately this product is pretty much useless! Don't bother unless you need a 16mm threaded anchor point.
Seat belt retaining plates Jul 24, 2011
By 72K20SUBN Great Product. Heavy duty material, and most likely overkill. These plates are slightly bigger than the factory plates underneath my car. Seriously dought these will pull through the floor in the most severe incodent. I rate this product as an A+ for anyone installing aftermarket seatbelts in an older car.
