pocket knife Feb 16, 2009

The Ken Onion Green Scallion pocket knife by Kershaw is by far the best khife I have ever owned. It holds a very sharp edge and stays sharpe for alot of use. Resharpening is fast with a diamond hone. The only problem I have encountered is with Federal Park rangers. Do not take it into any FEDERAL PARKS/MONUMENTS [ St Louis Arch ] or you will be turned away. As I arguing with lady ranger one of the male rangers pulled out his Kershaw Green Onion and said nice knife. OK for us not visitors. GREAT KNIFE

Pocket Knife Jun 02, 2011
By Unknown The Kershaw Scallion is one of my favorite knives. I bought this particular one to have as a backup. The handle of the knife is made of anodized aluminum. While the blade is made of 420(high carbon) stainless steel. This as a really good knife steel and in my opinion is the best 420 series steel. It also doesn't tend to rust very easily and it holds a decent edge. The Speed-Safe system deploys the blade REALLY fast. The Scallion uses a liner lock that holds the blade open pretty securely. However, there are a couple of things that I don't really like about the knife. First of all, the safely mechanism is this little plastic slider pin. It breaks really east if you're not careful with it. Seems like they would have made this out of metal and not plastic. The second thing is that the pocket clip is VERY strong. It can be a little tough to pull it out of your pocket and the clip is positioned for tip down carry. I do prefer tip up carry, but its just a personal preference. All in all, this is a great knife for every day use. I have always been pleased with Kershaw knives and the Scallion is no exception.
LOVE THIS KNIFE Aug 10, 2011
By nerdrage90 deploys very fast. anodized scales are sooo pretty. the blade tends to rust but nothing a bit of mineral oil shouldnt prevent. this is an edc blade and isnt intended for hard use. good collectors item if you ask me. i have the red, blue, green, black(Al version not the plastic one) so far haha. i still want the pink and olive drab versions! haha
Great mid-sized knife Mar 27, 2011
By mike h. I own quite a few Ken Onion Speed Safe knives from Kershaw and love them all for different reasons, mostly they are inexpensive, light and do what they say they will. The Scallion is a good size for everyday carry and strong enough to accomplish most tasks we ask of it on a daily basis. It's a good size for most everything, opens with a flash and has a strong liner to keep it open. While I change my E.D.C. knives all the time, I always go back to the Scallions when just grabbing for one on my way out of the house. The green is just one of four I own but I like the color so it seems to be the one I take most of the time.
