3Decent but open back attracts coins and keys  Nov 12, 2008
By C. D. Pritchard
Good points: The steel is very good. There's not much wasted steel in the blade- the edge runs up close to the handle. The blade lock is very secure- there's no chance of accidently releasing the lock. There's no side-to-side wobble of the blade (it feels almost like a fixed blade knife) yet it opens fairly easily. The knife can be disassembled via 7 torx screws which are secured with Locktite. In all these regards I think it's much better than the Gerber 06050 Ultralight LST Folding Knife with Fine Blade

Bad point: The back of the handle is open! I'm constantly detangling it from dimes and sometimes keys in my pocket. Not so good for the edge and- more importantly to me- it's really aggravating. It would have been easy and cheap for Gerber to close the opening. I'd give the knife a 5 star rating if not for this.

Minor quibbles: The product description says, "Thumb slot for one-hand opening". This is difficult to do due to the narrowness of the handle. It can be done, but it takes a far amount of resolute practice. The black finish on the handle doesn't last long- it's wearing through in places on mine after less than a month. This doesn't bother me.

5Small, Lightweight and Strong!  Jan 21, 2010
By Tim
I really like this knife, its compact and small, hardly noticeable in the pocket and very strong in construction. Well made and a very rigid little knife. Blade seems extremely sharp and handle offers a great hold. This is a great daily carry general purpose knife. I hang mine from my key chain next to my Fenix 01 flashlight and its a great combo.

Its great to have a knife I want to carry, I gave up carrying knifes after my last knife finally wore out, all the rest were just too bulky or cheaply made if the right size. This Gerber is small compact and light weight while remaining strong and rigid. A great little every day knife, everyone should have one in their pocket or purse!

5Thin and Sharp  Oct 28, 2010
By MGI
This knife is thin. Wearing dress pants, you won't even notice it in your pocket. The thickness is probably between 2-3 credit cards stacked together. It's a solid little knife when opened and razor sharp right out of the package. The liner lock is solid and holds the blade fixed in place with no movement. There is a thumb slot for one hand opening. It's easily opened and closed with one hand, so no worries there. The blade is 2 inches in length = isn't an EDC for someone with heavy duty use requirements, but it's ideal for a light duty pocket knife. I've probably subjected this to far more than I should, but other than a few scrapes, it's no worse for wear. No worries about bending or damage. I'm a fan of Gerber knives which in my experience are of the highest quality. I have several spanning a number of years and have no compliants with any of them.

If I ever manage to break or lose this knife, I wouldn't think twice about replacing it with another immediately.

5sharp deal  Oct 01, 2010

THIS IS A GREAT POCKET KNIFE! If you need a SLIM, LIGHT, SHARP knife with a locking blade, this is it. Well made and durable. Highly recommended.

3won't puchase it again  May 20, 2012

sturdy construction, but difficult to release blade lock. only minor handle curvature and thin handle profile makes it possible to slip fingers to blade in stabbing action. also a tad heavy for comfortable pocketing. still prefer the Gerber LST series for everyday pocket knife.
