Good bipod for the money with a few quirks Aug 11, 2010

"Seek truth with discernment"
This bipod is a nice alternative to the better made and more expensive Harris models. In my opinion, these designs are the absolute best in function. They fold up and down very easily and adjust very easily. You can very quickly snap the legs out to maximum length and back again, and without too much trouble can even adjust the individual legs to any length in between. Great for shooting on unlevel ground. Futhermore, they attach very quickly and easily to any gun with a sling stud installed, with no need for a second stud. Just unhook your sling, attach the bipod as directed, and reattach the sling to the bipod. And additionaly, you can switch the bipod onto another gun in about 2 minutes tops if you need to. I actually have an extremely tall Harris bipod and then one of these that I sometimes use on the same gun depending on the height of the grass.
The Rock Mount, as stated before, is almost identical to the Harris in form and function. In fact, my Rock Mount is actually EASIER to install than the Harris by a very narrow margin, thanks to the tightening screw being easier to grip. However, I had a very bad failure in the field with my Rock Mount when the original nuts that held the hinge screws in came off. I do shoot a heavy gun, in .300 Winchester Magnum, but I don't think the nuts should back off. The nuts were lost and the screws fell out making the legs dangle uselessly. At that point it was next to worthless. Luckily, it wasn't that hard to fix and I took the screws down to the hardware store and bought some nuts with the right thread. A little locktight and a few minutes later I had a bipod that was better than when I bought it.
Apologies for being none too brief, but this was one item I really wanted to explain the specifics of. FOR THE MONEY, you are getting a very good product. I have abused mine for several years, taking it on and off guns, tossing it around the pickup, using it on a 15 pound gun with a decent amount of recoil, and I've only had the one failure that was bad but was fixable. I would have given it 1 or 2 stars had it not been something I could fix at home.

Solid Shooting Platform Feb 07, 2010
By Matt This bipod makes for a very solid shooting platform. It mounts to the firearm very easily, doesn't scratch the gun, and doesn't move around. I have it mounted on a Marlin 795SS and it works well. I can't speak to how it stands up to the larger calibers, as mine's a .22LR. It looks nice, it's light and it's sturdy. I made a .75" group at 50 yards on the first day with the gun and the bipod. It is very comfortable to shoot in the prone position using this product. People who are more knowledgeable than I have told me that it looks and functions much like a Harris bipod to give you a reference. I would highly recommend purchasing this bipod.

Rock Solid Rock Mount, quickly delivered, well worth it Nov 13, 2010
By Capt. Killingfield First of all, I received my Shooters Ridge Rock Mount Bipod a full two days before it's earliest arrival date. I was astonished. Included was a FREE unmentioned picatinny rail adapter, of high quality. That alone saves you $20-$30. For the price I'm not sure if it can be beat. It is of the same design as the Harris (at half the price), yet is made of a thinner metal. I find this to be a positive, in that it is lighter, lessening the front-end weight of my rifle. Everything locks down tightly, as no part of the unit bobbles or shakes when installed on the rifle. It IS a rock mount.
Four stars for two reasons: 1 - I did not receive any instructions with this bipod. It is my first bipod, and it took me a moment to figure out how to get it to clip onto my swivel stud, with all the small moving parts. 2 - I wish the spring-retractable legs were spring-EXTENDABLE legs. The way the legs are set up, it is quite difficult to adjust the lengths of the legs. They must be released, and then held at the desired length with one hand, and tightened down with the other hand. The leg tries to pull out of your hand while adjusting. If they were spring-EXTENDABLE, then they would automatically shoot down to the needed length, and you would tighten it down with just one hand, instead of needing two.

Great product Sep 16, 2011
By Jacob Spoelstra Bought this for my Savage Mark II BTVS after seeing it mounted on the rifle in several pictures on-line. Couldn't be happier - mount works great and fits snugly and securely to rifle stock; legs are sturdy and lock in place with a satisfying click. I highly recommend it.
