Its SMALL Oct 07, 2010
By Paul M Respectable quality. Made in China. Sharp blade. Get out your ruler. Blade is 1.75 inch. Cutting edge is 1.25 inch Folded handle 2.25. Its almost too small to use. Recomend getting the next larger model(420J2 SS blade w/D54420 Handle)

Excellent quality little knife. Jan 04, 2011
By Luke Very solid and well-made. The knife is quite small, but I'm not entirely certain how that alone dictates a low rating. It's obviously not made to tackle the cutting tasks of larger knives; however, it is a nice little piece to have in your pocket for those miscellaneous cuts that often arise in the event you don't (or can't) have a more intimidating edge on you. The knife is sturdy and the blade is sharp. Instead of voicing discontent about its size, simply purchase a larger knife if this isn't what you're looking for. 5 stars.

Incredibly Sharp- need child sized fingers to use it Nov 17, 2010
By Eric Ferguson Well build knife for the money, and super sharp. Would travel very well in a car glove compartment when you needed to open or cut something. However the small size is a bit impracticable for a lot of uses: it's just too tiny for adult hands.

My best freind for more than 7 years now May 28, 2011
By J. Hollingsworth The title says it all, I have owed my Kershaw 5000 for over 7 years. Since I have had mine for so long I'm not sure if mine was made in China or not.
I use this knife nearly daily to open letters, cut packing tape, trim wire insulation, shorten drinking straws, etc. I'm amazed how sharp the blade still is and has never needed sharping. I'm surprised that others would complain that this knife is to small, after all it's a pocket knife. The size is perfect for keeping in a pocket both in thickness and in length. When the blade is opened, there is a finger notch in handle and blade for added control.

By The K I was surprised at how small the knife really is, only measuring 3 inches closed but its sharp and ive gotten a ton of use out of it.
