They feature hand cut stones of quality genuine Abalone Shell. These post earrings are 7/8 long. Abalone Shell- It's the shell that houses and protects the univalve gastropod mollusk commonly known as the Abalone. The animal has been nicknamed the Sea Ear because its shape resembles the shape of a human ear. The shell has a Mother of Pearl lining and dazzling natural colors that make it valuable as a gemstone. Nine separate species of Abalone live in North America: Black, Flat, Green, Pink, Pinto, Red, Threaded, Western Atlantic, and White.
