5Great kit for the price  Mar 08, 2012
By David "David"
Fantastic cleaning kit for a .22, especially for the price. Rod is real snug in a .22, but not too tight. I suspect, but don't know, that double swabs or thicker swabs might be necessary for a .257, but this kit works just great in my .22 rifle.

You cannot put a lot of pressure on one end of the rod when the tip is just entering the bore without bending aluminum tube slightly less than 22/100ths inch in diameter, but a little common sense tells one to grasp the rod closer to the tip with fingers to get the tip started into the bore, as stated in the instructions. IMO, anyone who bends this rod cleaning a .22 probably is not intelligent enough to own a firearm.

4Could do a bit better  May 09, 2011
By Jeff
So this just came in the mail and I just opened it. Everything seems: the rods fits nicely and smoothly, no edges to ruin your bore but you may have to do some rod mix and matching to figure it out. It came with a ton of patches. Only disappointed thing is that the slotted and pointed jag attachments are plastic. But all in all it was a good deal since it included the oil and solvent.

If you buy this, buy metal jags.

2Buy everything seperate  Jan 14, 2011

The cleaning kit is bad. The cleaning rod isn't made well and the brushes suck.
Just go buy the solvent/oil separately and get a bore snake. Much better

4Doesn't clean a .25 caliber  Mar 21, 2012
By T. Morris "On The High Desert"
The product description is correct but the title is incorrect. I just purchased one of these on that not-as-big-as-it-once-was auction site because someone claimed it cleaned both .22 & .25 calibers. The title for this one on Amazon, as of today, states it cleans ".22 - .257 Caliber" and the kit won't clean a .25 caliber. If you add a Hoppe's 1310P, which is cheap here on Amazon, you're good to go with the .25 caliber. You may have to double up on the cleaning pads but that's not a problem. The only other downside to this kit is that the tips are plastic, and the older ones had metal tips, so that made it a 4 star for me. I don't expect these to last long but, overall, the kit is well worth the price for the rods, solvent and lube alone.
