just as described Aug 08, 2011
By schyler86 This kit is exactly what the picture shows, not sure what the other review is talking about the black box for. it clearly says it comes it a plastic clamshell. Hoppe's has always made pretty good cleaning kits. This isn't the best kit out there, but it would be my first choice for this price range. it is what it is, a budget cleaning kit and it fits it's purpose.

CHEAP Rod Broke w/First Use!! Apr 15, 2012
By D. Easley

The quality of the rod in this kit is just awful. It broke the very first time I used it. I was cleaning a snub nosed revolver and as I pulled the aluminum rod back out the plastic attachment snapped right off! Take about cheap & raggedy. This is my first and last Hoppe's purchase. The company needs to improve the quality of its rods & attachments.

Hoppe's Cleaning Kit for .38, .357 Caliber 9mm Pistol, with Aluminum Rod, Clam Feb 13, 2012

used this for my 9mm SIG P250, works really well. Clam shell is not the best, but the products are great. Come with oil, cleaner, patches, rod and attachments for cleaning a pistol..

not really as advertised! Jan 24, 2011
By marlor This product does NOT come in a nice black box like in the middle section of the product image. What you get is the transparent plastic mold package (not too handy to reuse) on the left side of the image.
