A good light. Nov 14, 2007
By P. Erson A good light. Nice battery life (as with most LEDs). Nice to be able to use the "candle mode" during power outages. Will provide workable light to an entire living room for many hours.
If I were looking for one drawback, it's that the 3 cell AA light is a little longer/taller than the 2 AA light. It would be more prone to fall over on an unstable surface. However, that's not a problem for most people.
This is a light that should last a lifetime unless it is abused.

good light, doesn't hold up the best in tough environments Jan 16, 2010
By Paul E This light is considerably brighter then the 2-AA version, but it's not as durable as advertised. I use this light in a foundry so it's one of the tougher work environments, and after about 6 months of use, the holster has ripped apart from repeated use. The seals don't keep out the dust which I regularly find inside, and I occasionally need to open it up and clean the contacts. The on/off switch jams, causing the light to flicker, or not turn on until I've wacked it on an I-beam a few times. Still, it's a better light then most of the ones out there, and a great buy for the money.

Great flashlight Oct 03, 2009
By Hugor I have long been impressed with Maglite products. This one is no exception. I got one of these for my daughter, and liked hers so much I got one for myself too. It's great for use on walks after dark. It casts a nice wide, bright white beam, and the battery life seems good. It gives off more light than the older 3-D incandescent Maglites I used to use, and is much much brighter than the 2-AA incandescent Maglites.
The beam can't be focused as tightly as with incandescent Maglites, but that's hardly necessary, considering it is so bright. The size makes it easier to carry than the shorter 2-AA flashlights.

Best Flashlight for the Money Oct 24, 2011

I bought a two pack of these 3-AA mag lights at Sams Club for $25(since discontinued), and am very happy I did. The LED lights up the whole field behind my house, which is about 100 feet long, and has a great blue beam of light. Its light and fits in my pocket perfectly, I also keep one in each car and fits in the glove boxes easily and doesn't take up too much room. I cycle out the rechargeable batteries I put in them every couple months and I know that every time I need it, its going to work and work well. Somebody wrote a review that mentioned the button got dirt in it, but this model of mag lite (3-AA) has no button. It simple turns at the lens and works every time. In my opinion it is the best flashlight out there, even compared to those $75 flashlights that use those fat little batteries that go out after 20 minutes of use.

Everything you need for the home Oct 18, 2009
By Larry H in Austin I have nothing to criticize about this flashlight. It's light and seems as bright or brighter than older, heavier incandescent D cell battery flashlights. With occasional usage over the last year, there are no signs that the batteries are wearing out. It also feels solid and well made, and looks good too.
