It appeared well built and sturdy. The suction mechanism worked well to stabilize it to the counter. The first time it worked great. The second time it bent the cutting grate. Just not tough enough to use on sweet potatoes, IMO. I did not try it on regular potatoes.

I have enjoyed using the Weston Frenchy Fry Cutter. However a somewhat green large potatoe can cause the cutter blades to bend under the pressure required to push the potatoe through the mechanism. I wish you could just purchase the cutter blades for replacement as needed.

my first cutter was the 1/4" cuitter. It was unable to process the potato. too much potato going through too many small holes. the 3/8" cutter handles the job perfectly. also get the suction cup feet for the unit. It is a have to have item also, without them the job is almost impossible

I bought cutter plate to replace the ones I broke. Heads up they will not cut sweet potato fries. Works great for regular potatoes. It's easy to assemble.

Purchased a french fry cutter for my husband, whose french fries are asked for frequently by his grandchildren. They all think his french fries are the best in the world.
Need a 1/2 Inch Cutter Plate, and the only website that offered this size to fit our french fry cutter was Amazon.com. Thank you Amazon!
